Hymn to the Trinity

Holy Mother, Queen and Creator,
all life has its birth in You,
Springing from Your womb eternal
when the universe was new.
Guide us with your strength and passion,
Smash our idols, cleanse our soul,
Bind our wounds and heal our spirits
Give us new hearts and make us whole.

Holy Wisdom, Daughter, Messiah
Through you all the world is made
Mirror of God’s beauty shining
Light of Light that never fades.
Hear your church sing “Hallelujah!”
Be for us our daily bread.
Send us out to all the broken
till on you the world is fed.

Holy Spirit, Grace unbounded,
Come to us in wind and fire.
Prophets, preachers, healers, teachers,
All of us you still inspire.
Comfort us when we are weary,
melt the frozen, warm the chill.
Guide us in your truth forever
Give us strength to do your will.

If the triune formula used in this hymn were to be used in a baptism, would it be valid? If not, why would this be encouraged by any Christian community that has baptism?

A question that comes to mind is this: “Does this help authentic Christian unity?”

The first and second stanzas appear to have problems.
The third stanza seems solid, and I like it.

I guess I was thinking specifically about the title: “Hymn to the Trinity” but perhaps the title might be “Hymn to a Trinity” We baptize in the name of the trinity; that is what makes a Christian.

The imagery in this hymn is a departure of what we have been entrusted to hand on.

What effects would the singing of this song have on the theological formation of people singing this hymn? Would these effects be ones that a Catholic would desire?

I’m just curious what fruits you hope to see from the singing of this hymn?
